It’s been three days
His family still mourns,
the scene still fresh
in their minds.

Three crosses
bearing three men;
one of them
the forgiver of sin.

The earth quaked
and the sky grew dark,
when he breathed
his last breath.

They laid Him gently
in a tomb,
a grieve stricken mother
returns to mourn.

Tears rolled
down her cheeks;
the stone
had been rolled away.

Her Son was missing.
Where did they take him?
She had to know.
Hadn’t they done enough?

Outside the tomb
she see’s him there;
unbelieving she
stands and stares.

“Weep no more;
it is I.
I have risen
to cleanse the world of sin.”

“Leaving, to sit
at the right hand of my Father.
I will be
with you always.”

The sky parted
with a brilliant light;
as she watched Him ascend
upward to heaven.

She ran rejoicing
sharing the good news.
“Rejoice, rejoice!
The tomb is empty!”

“Glorious resurrection
this blessed hour;
on this third day
our Lord and Savior has risen!”
